Clean 15

Most of you have probably heard of the "Clean 15" and the "Dirty Dozen." Those are the 15 fruits and vegetables you can safely buy conventional (i.e. non organic) and the 12 that you should only buy organic to avoid pesticide exposure.

Generally I think of it like this: if there is a thick (removable) peel then it's ok to buy conventional. Those are things like mangoes, avocados and bananas.

Really soft and fragile fruits such as berries and leafy greens should always be organic. Why? Because you're going to find a lot of pesticide residue on these conventionally grown products.
